For four days this summer, LOWAC has rented a table at the Matiowski Farmers Market. Four members will be able to show/sell their work using one of these tables at no charge in exchange for help with a raffle and membership drive. We will be following the latest health guidelines as well as any other directives from the City and will provide updates as they are available.
The dates are:
- June 23
- June 30
- July 14
- August 25
WHAT TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE ONE OF THESE DATES
Members interested in using one of these spots can submit their names indicating the date or dates that they would want. Submit to lowacdirectors@gmail.com before May 30. Use the subject heading: Entry for Matiowski Market. You may put your name in for more than one date but can only win once.
We expect that more than four members will apply for each date, so names will be randomly drawn for each date from the names submitted. All active members, including those currently on the LOWAC Board of Directors, may enter this draw.
WHY LOWAC IS DOING THIS
There are four benefits to LOWAC:
- Providing members an opportunity to promote themselves and their work
- Promoting LOWAC
- Attracting new members and member renewals
- Much needed fundraising through the sale of raffle tickets
DETAILS
- Each space includes an eight-foot-long table.
- Along with their own work, those selected will be expected to display one or two gift baskets (provided by LOWAC), information cards and membership applications.
- They will handle the sale of raffle tickets for the gift baskets and any new memberships.
- The baskets and LOWAC information should only take up a small portion of the table, leaving lots of display space. There is also the area behind the table for additional display.
The artist is responsible for setting up their own display and providing any additional stands or displays. A LOWAC Board Member will assist at the start and end of the market, looking after the baskets and raffle materials. Due to “social distancing”, the board member will not stay at the table for the day. Other details will be discussed with the chosen exhibitors.
RAFFLE
We are also seeking donations for prizes for the fundraising raffle. We are just finalizing the themes we wish to go with and will be sending out another email shortly. However, if you are willing to donate a prize please email lowacdirectors@gmail.com and we’ll be in touch!
