Funding

As a not-for-profit with a small membership, LOWAC relies on funding achieved through grant applications we complete throughout the year.

These monies are used to fund activities like ArtsFest, community arts projects (Muskies on Main, Dip, Dip and Swing, etc.) workshops, website updates, and marketing.

There are many funding organizations that focus on supporting the arts in Canada. Helping local artists become aware of and navigate through grants that are available for a wide spectrum of arts disciplines and project is an important part of LOWAC’s mandate in fostering the promotion of arts in the community. Look to this page and our Facebook page for regular updates on upcoming artists grants requirements and deadlines.

Some of the grants we have seen success through are listed below with links. This is not an exhaustive list but will be updated regularly as new funding opportunities become available. Check the websites for updates and deadlines and watch the LOWAC Facebook page for reminders as well. In many cases, the money is there for the asking. Applying for grants can be an arduous process, but well worth the effort when it means that an important arts project can see the light of day.
