Join Aimee for a workshop from the comfort of your home and learn the process of working with clay to create an item such as a mug or pinch pot. Once registered you’ll receive a list of easily acquired materials, which you can get on your own or contact Aimee to purchase.

Tuesday, April 20, 7 pm. Register here.
NOTE: Due to Aimee’s university schedule this is a Tuesday, rather than our usual Wednesday presentations.
Materials required
-A work surface like a table or countertop, you can use a plastic placemat or some newspaper to protect your surface
– A bowl of water
– A rag/sponge
– A small paintbrush or two
– A sharp wooden pencil
– A small knife (exacto blade works well, but another small knife will do)
– Stamps (fun, but optional! You can get creative here, a lot of things make interesting imprints on clay!)
CLAY ORDERS:
People can pick up clay for this workshop at Moon in June studio on Friday April 9th and Friday April 16 from 4-6pm: Contactless pick up from a box outside the studio door. Other arrangements can be made by contacting Aimee directly at Mooninjunestudio@outlook.com.
Cost for supplies and firing is $25 and includes the clay and subsequent kiln firings. Fired projects will be available for pick up after about 4 weeks.
Etransfer your order and payment to Mooninjunestudio@outlook.com.
If you wish to purchase your own clay, it must be a cone 6 clay if you want to fire your work at the studio. There are many different cone 6 clays to choose from but as long as it’s cone 6, mid-range firing clay it will be fine. You can make separate arrangements with Aimee to fire your work by emailing the address above.
Again, if you aren’t purchasing supplies or require firing, Aimee’s session is free.
More about Aimee
Aimee Baldwin is a tactile artisan with a formal background in Fashion Arts and Design. She fell in love with clay in high school and rekindled her interest by attending weekly pottery lessons at Riverdale Farms in Toronto. In December, 2014, Aimee completed a four-month intensive Ceramic Arts course at Haliburton School of the Arts. She opened Moon In June Studio on October 1st, 2015.
Moon In June Studio is based in Kenora, Ontario and offers unique, hand-made ceramics for daily functional use & decorative aesthetic pleasure. If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty, Aimee encourages you to book a pottery party where you can learn to make your very own mug from scratch! Aimee also offers one-on-one lessons for those who desire a more personalized learning experience. Being able to share her craft to future generations is important to Aimee and she has been fortunate to take part in the Artist In Residency programs offered in several elementary schools within her community.

Living so close to the wilds of Northwestern Ontario has given Aimee a deep appreciation for natural beauty. Her aesthetic tastes pay homage to brilliant star filled skies, cool shimmering lakes and rugged boreal forests thriving with flora & fauna. Aimee’s work has a fresh woodsy feel to it: earthy, whimsical, and often highly functional.
