We are pleased to share with you that ArtsBuild Ontario and NORDIK Institute are working in partnership with four Northern Ontario communities to map existing creative spaces and arts facilities to create a resource for artists and make a plan to fill the voids of what is needed. The key partners in the Mapping Northern Creative Spaces project are the cities and surrounding regions of Kenora, Sault Ste. Marie, Timmins, and Wawa. The project has the goal of providing a snapshot of the creative spaces in Northern Ontario – what exists, what is needed, what are the concerns, ideas, and hopes for the future. Are you an artist, writer, dancer, musician working from home or renting a studio? Are you part of an arts collective that rents a space? All creatives are invited to participate! We want to hear from you!
The first phase of the mapping is through any online survey in each of the community. Deadline to participate is October 25, 2020. Links to each community’s specific survey can be found at https://www.artsbuildontario.ca/managing/mapping-northern-creative-spaces.
