TrypTych Concert and Opera is proud to announce that they are producing a new concert series. After five wonderful years of the Summer Market Music Series in Kenora, they are moving happily down to Sioux Narrows and into the Northern Ontario Sports Fishing Centre. This wonderful venue is right on the beautiful Lake of the Woods.
This year, they will be presenting the Sioux Narrows Summer MusicFest, on the last Wednesday evening of June, July and August at 7 p.m. This MusicFest will feature music from the Great American Songbook, Musical Theatre, popular song and more. The house band will be the TrypTych Trio Plus featuring Julie Husband, woodwinds; Lenard Whiting, piano; Edward Franko, bass; and Tony Cyre on percussion. There will be guest vocal soloists for the concerts. There are also plans for a Winter MusicFest in December and in February. More details to follow.
TrypTych Concert and Opera is entering their 25th season of producing concerts, opera, musical theatre and educational workshops. The Artistic Directors, Edward Franko and Lenard Whiting, moved from Toronto to Kenora in the summer of 2018 and have been busy sharing their talents with the northwestern Ontario community presenting concerts including the Summer Market Music Festival (for five years), cabarets, an operetta, HMS Parliament, and have released 9 music videos titled Opera on the Lake of the Woods. These videos celebrate great music sung by fine local singing artists in and around the landscapes, lakes and landmarks of Northwestern Ontario.
TrypTych looks forward to a long relationship with the Township of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls. The artistic directors have a beautiful property on Snake Bay, Lake of the Woods, Sioux Narrows.
